Attention All Cousins:

This will be a Camp Marianne update. =20

NEW YORK, NEW YORK, TEXAS, TEXAS, we have not yet heard from you all.
Things are fast approaching, time is getting nearer. As of today, we
have 13 coming from Michigan and 7 confirmed from Kansas with maybe 4
undecided. Can we count on 3 from Texas and 1 from New York? Remember
the cabin sleeps 20 in beds, so that means the young ones get to flop
(might think about packing some sleeping bags). Young ones are defined
as persons under the age of 40. (See Camp Marianne Rule No. 31-6(b).
So you will have to bring proof of your age (Julie bring your sleeping
bag).

Your hostess and I are looking for volunteers for the following
positions:

House Keeping Assistant to assist Cousin Julie
    (must have experience in bed changing).
Kitchen Cook Assistant to assist Chef Cousin Mary Beth
    (must have prior cooking abilities in preparing food for soldiers).
Assistant to the Kitchen Cook Assistant
    (must have experience in washing dishes).
Kitchen Helper
    (must be skilled at removing garbage from plates and trash can).
Coordinator for Raft Trip
    (needs to be able to swim and identify eddies).
Coordinator for Horseback Riding
    (must appear in appropriate cowboy/cowgirl attire).
Hiking Guide
    (must be able to read compass and able to leap tall mountains)
Mountain Bike Guide
    (must be able to demonstrate bicycle riding over large boulders).
Water Balloon Supervisor
    (will be responsible for damage caused by water and will
    report directly to Cousin Marianne).
Stupid Fire Side Story Telling
    (must be able to communicate with people from New York).
Assistant to Camp Director
    (must be intelligent and be able to put up with stuff like this).

Other jobs will be posted as we approach the target Reunion Date of JUNE

If you will refer to Message Number #1 you will see that I, Julie (Second
Cousin) was appointed Reservation Clerk. Although I appreciate your imput,
if you will refer to page 4, paragraph 2, it states that I will solely be
responsible for making each and every reservation. Furthermore if you will
refer to page 6, paragraph 3, subparagraph b, you will see that I am not
allowed to discriminte based on age, sex (Male of Female), race, religion, or
sexual orientation.

Your imput on those over forty has been duly noted and I will take that into

Dear Camp Director -

One more notation, your email suggests 7 from Kansas, that is in-correct,
4 of us actually live across the border in Missouri. Gary, you used to be very
good at details, of course I refuse to discriminate. I have also taken
into consideration that the over 40 group may have senile tendancies
or other forms of memory loss. I understand one of the bedrooms is 1
large room that sleeps 8. If we reserve this for the over forty
group - we could lock all of you up avoiding anyone wondering off
in the middle of the night.

This also justifies my reservations to the young group taking the beds
as none of you over forty will remember this vacation anyway.

Dear Gary,

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that I will be more than happy
to accept the responsibilities of fireside story teller (FSST). As you have
seen in previous communications that my communicating abilities are
outstanding. Being from New York, I should be able to communicate with
myself well.

More importantly though, I will also be accepting the position of Director
of Transportation (DOT) and Director of Finance (DOF).

As the DOT, I will handle all local transportatioon issues, I have mailed a
copy of the local codes, Camp Marianne Transportation Regulations(CMTR).
All campers are advised to obtain a copy for thier personal review to avoid
any transportaion problems to any local events and avoid any subsiquent
violations, fines or grounding for periods up to 48 hrs. Please send a
check payable to the DOF for $75.00 to the address listed below.

As the DOF, I will handle all monetary issues, Banking, Investment and
Retirement. To open your account, please send a check finj the amount of
$1000.00 payable to the Camp Marianne Dept of Finance to the following
address:

If you plan on spending more, please send as much as you like. I also have
some nice IRA's available and some high yield low risk stocks. Investment
and retirtements accounts require and additional $500.00 deposit each and a

Unfortunatly, I can give out this number for obvious security reasons. You

Re: Response to Previous Messages (in the order that I remember
them).

To Cousin John: We are grateful the you volunteered for such time
consuming and responsible positions. As Director of Transportation
(DOT) perhaps we can rent a fleet of Hummers, Helicopter, etc. As to
Director of Finance (DOF) my check is in the mail. Did that include
shipping and handling fees? As to story telling we expect you to also
be fluent in Texas and Mid-west talk as well as being able to speak "Up
North." Thanks John, you are the man.

To Cousin Dave: We gratefully accept you volunteering for the Assistant
to the Chef's position. I am sure everyone is excited to try your
Melody of Vegetables (Cousin Cindy is especially excited about that
dish) and the thought of waking up to a glass of fresh squeezed celery
juice will be welcomed by all.

Speaking of positions, it has come to my attention that we will need
someone who can play the Bugle (must be able to play the tune Revelry in
the morning). Also, we need someone who can play the guitar for songs
around the campfire.

To Cousin Tom: Yes you can be my assistant because you were the first
to identify my "stuff" that I can put out. I am sure you will add
plenty in that regard.

To Cousin Julie (Jewels): You were obviously reading the old manual
regarding your comments about age discrimination. Please refer to the
new and revised Camp Manual. You may want to purchase one from our new
DOF for a small fee. The new manual clearly states that we will comply
with Title 5 of the Americans Disability Act (hereinafter referred to as
the "ADA"). According to a recent Supreme Court case (Morris v. Ramada
Inn., et al., 845 Fed. 2d 1387) any American citizen over the age of 40
years is to be considered a "protected class" pursuant to the ADA and
any violation of discriminating acts will be grounds for civil and
criminal penalties. I am sure that our Camp Hostess will strongly
prevent you from making any bad decisions that would place her in a
position of a civil punitive damage claim made by anyone over the age of
40. (Like putting the Camp Director in a room with someone who snores
or passes gas). Your inability to read and understand the English
language in not considered to be a handicap. Perhaps taking on two jobs,
Reservation Clerk and Housekeeping is too much for your abilities.
Perhaps you should resign the Reservation position and keep at what you
do best, Housekeeping. (These are just my thoughts and legal analysis of
your last message and in no way reflect the management of Camp
Marianne).

To Cousin Tony: As to your water rights, please refer to the new and
revised Camp Manual that can be purchased from the DOF. You may want to
invest in waterproof clothing and buy stock in water balloons.

We have still not yet heard from Cousin Mary Beth, our Chief Chef and
Cook. Please respond TEXAS. Send her your favorite recipe for feeding
an army.

In addition, we are now expanding our invitation to Minnesota (Cousins
Mark and Chris); Illinois (Cousins Suzanne, Tim, Ray and Helen). Can we
hear from you MINNESOTA and ILLINOIS?

It looks like a great bunch will show up to the Reunion at Camp
Marianne.

I have been fairly silent so far watching all of you accept responsibilities
far above the call of duty. The camp director has neglected some important
positions and I would like to bring them to your attention.

I would like to know who is going to be in charge of TRASH, PSYCOTHERAPY,
FIRST AID, DIRECTING A FAMILY MOVIE, DOMINOS AND BOARD GAMES, MOVIES,
AEROBICS, PHYSICAL THERAPY, HELPING THOSE OVER 40 IN AND OUT OF VEHICLES, OFF
AND ON HORSES, IN AN OUT OF RIVER RAFTS, TO AND FROM TOILETS, DISBURSING
MEDICATIONS, DIRECTIONS BACK TO THE HOUSE; WE NEED A VOLUNTEER TO FEED THE
BEARS AND OTHER WILD LIFE TO ENTICE THEM TO HANG AROUND THE HOUSE SO THAT
OTHER PEOPLE STAY AWAY. AND CRAFTS, I HAVEN'T HEARD A WORD ABOUT CRAFTS.

WE NEED A VOLUNTEER TO SHOP AND ECONOMICALLY PURCHASE 8,460 PLASTIC 16 OZ
CUPS, 1260 EACH OF PAPER PLATES, PLASTIC FORKS, KNIVES AND SPOONS, AND 30
NAPKINS. (YOU CAN USE THEM OVER IF YOU ARE CAREFUL)

AND, EVERYBODY SHOULD BRING THEIR OWN TOWEL.

Thank you Camp Director and all you volunteers. This is going to be the best
organized outing we've all had together. Keep up the good work you all.

Hello all Camp Marianne family,

This is cousin Joyce from Michigan. I like cousin Marianne have been just
been sitting back and reading all the Camp Marianne messages without
responding. I have chosen at this time to respond.

I have just one thing to say OHHHH MYYYY GODDDD.

I'm afraid very afraid and it is possible that there may be a head count
change from Michigan for safety and health reasons.

If we do not come to our senses and continue to participate in the sanity at
Camp Marianne the following should be noted.

Gary is definately out of control and somone in Kansas needs to pull his
reins in and take control. I think we might be seeing senile symptoms here.

I do agree with Gary on one issue the "over 40 crowd" do have rights and
should not all sleep in the same room, bed, or floor.

In response to cousin Marianne looking for other various positions. If
possible we will be bringing Rachel who will be working at her clincal
training as a speech pathologist.
She will have training working with people who have speech and swallowing
disorders due to age or head injuries due to "accidents". She has worked in
a physcial rehab center this past summer and does like working with seniors
(Gary). She would also be willing to help Gary pronounce "Philadelphia".

If possible cousin Amy Mulherin will be coming who is now working on her
degree as a possible art teacher and who does many crafts. Rosemary is also
very good with painting but she is definately needed in the kitchen to keep
Dave in control.

I am glad Rosemay has agreed to help in the kitchen. Dave is alreay looking
for proper packing for his 2 juicers. He is also looking into buying bulk
wholesale carrots and celery and having them delivered. Perhaps he will be
able to look into purchasing bulk plates, cups, plastic silverware, and
toliet paper.

As for myself, I do not play the guitar for campire singing but would
possibly consider tap dancing around the campfire with Dave.

My last concern is that we have not heard from cousin Cindy yet. How
concerned should we be?

To Cousin John: We are grateful the you volunteered for such time
consuming and responsible positions. As Director of Transportation
(DOT) perhaps we can rent a fleet of Hummers, Helicopter, etc. As to
Director of Finance (DOF) my check is in the mail. Did that include
shipping and handling fees? As to story telling we expect you to also
be fluent in Texas and Mid-west talk as well as being able to speak "Up
North." Thanks John, you are the man.

To Cousin Dave: We gratefully accept you volunteering for the Assistant
to the Chef's position. I am sure everyone is excited to try your
Melody of Vegetables (Cousin Cindy is especially excited about that
dish) and the thought of waking up to a glass of fresh squeezed celery
juice will be welcomed by all.

Speaking of positions, it has come to my attention that we will need
someone who can play the Bugle (must be able to play the tune Revelry in
the morning). Also, we need someone who can play the guitar for songs
around the campfire.

To Cousin Tom: Yes you can be my assistant because you were the first
to identify my "stuff" that I can put out. I am sure you will add
plenty in that regard.

To Cousin Julie (Jewels): You were obviously reading the old manual
regarding your comments about age discrimination. Please refer to the
new and revised Camp Manual. You may want to purchase one from our new
DOF for a small fee. The new manual clearly states that we will comply
with Title 5 of the Americans Disability Act (hereinafter referred to as
the "ADA"). According to a recent Supreme Court case (Morris v. Ramada
Inn., et al., 845 Fed. 2d 1387) any American citizen over the age of 40
years is to be considered a "protected class" pursuant to the ADA and
any violation of discriminating acts will be grounds for civil and
criminal penalties. I am sure that our Camp Hostess will strongly
prevent you from making any bad decisions that would place her in a
position of a civil punitive damage claim made by anyone over the age of
40. (Like putting the Camp Director in a room with someone who snores
or passes gas). Your inability to read and understand the English
language in not considered to be a handicap. Perhaps taking on two jobs,
Reservation Clerk and Housekeeping is too much for your abilities.
Perhaps you should resign the Reservation position and keep at what you
do best, Housekeeping. (These are just my thoughts and legal analysis of
your last message and in no way reflect the management of Camp
Marianne).

To Cousin Tony: As to your water rights, please refer to the new and
revised Camp Manual that can be purchased from the DOF. You may want to
invest in waterproof clothing and buy stock in water balloons.

We have still not yet heard from Cousin Mary Beth, our Chief Chef and
Cook. Please respond TEXAS. Send her your favorite recipe for feeding
an army.

In addition, we are now expanding our invitation to Minnesota (Cousins
Mark and Chris); Illinois (Cousins Suzanne, Tim, Ray and Helen). Can we
hear from you MINNESOTA and ILLINOIS?

It looks like a great bunch will show up to the Reunion at Camp
Marianne.

Hello all Cousins,

I know you probably think I somehow instigated this whole thing,
however, that is not so. Cousin-in-law Gary is truly out of control, I
agree, and I had nothing to do with it. I think it might be in part to
senility as Cousin Joyce mentioned, therefore, I think at this time it
would be best to allow him to continue his role as Director and Activity
Coordinator for Camp Marianne, in order to pacify him and allow him to
feel important. I hope you all agree.

I was really glad to hear that Cousin Rachel will be able to help Cousin
Gary with his pronunciation of "Philadelphia". There are several other
words he has trouble pronouncing. We can go over those during Camp
Week. Maybe Cousin Rachel could be Cousin Gary's interpreter, since
many times we do have difficulty understanding what he is trying to say.

I can't tell you how excited I am to know that Cousin Dave may bring his
juicers. This will truly be an exciting venture. I was just wondering
if we should buy organic vegetables? What do you all think??

I also agree with Cousin Gary and Cousin Joyce on rights for the "over
40 crowd". It could get pretty noisy and uncomfortable with all of us
in one room.

As for volunteering, I would like to spend some time in the kitchen
learning how to juice with Cousin Dave. Sounds like a good book,
doesn't it?

Sorry it has taken me so long to respond. However I am employed and have to
work for a living. I am on break and thought I would send a quick note.

I understand that we are going to need a special diet for those over 40 for
memory. I am sure there are special herbs that we can get to help them with
this during camp week.

I have been reading with much distress the onslught of viscous attacks
accross class and age lines...I feel I have no alternative to step up and
take charge of camp security and accept the position of Director of
security(DOS), a copy of the Camp Marianne Security Regulation(CMSR) may be
purchased from the DOF for $75.00...I do this with a heavy heartas I do not
wish to put a damper on the camp marianne but I do have the following
concerns:

1. Gary, please read the current copy of the Camp Marianne Discrimination
Law(CMDL) enacted Oct 21, 2002...while the over 40 croud is a protected
class, it was also ruled that the over 40 crowd's right's must not infringe
the right of the uner 30 crowd to breathable air.(see smith v. PTA,
1157)...While I look forward to becoming a vigorous member of the over 40
crowd someday, I must stay within my party lines and protect the under 30
crowd.

2. I also feel that I must protect some of the campers from themselves in
thier golden years. I must therefor make my first duty to confiscate all
wax and plastic vegitables to prevent the ingestion of any toxic juices.
All campers should leave any such item out of thier camp luggage. I will be
looking to Rachel for her expertise.

3. Cindy, If you are in fear, I can establish a new identity for you and
put you in the camp protection program.

To All Camp Attendees:

This will be a short message to inform you of important information.
We only have 185 days until we embark on a journey to the Rocky
Mountains to Camp Marianne. I repeat, 185 DAYS TO GO. I'll bet you all
are getting exited! Things happen very fast. I first want to thank
everyone for having me as your Camp Director. I am very grateful, but
not as grateful as I am to have a couple important people on my staff as
that of my beloved, lovely God Daughter, Cousin Julie. She has stepped
forwarded and has taken her job very seriously. Please be patient and
kind to her for she has a very difficulty job in finding everyone a bed.
If she can pull this off, and I am sure she will, I will nominate her
for the Camp Pine Tree Branch Award. This will be the highest award
given away at camp this summer. Some of you may want to try to win this
prestige award presented by the Camp Director. Say for example Cousin
John who has unselfishly taken on not one job, but that of the FSST,
DOT, DOF, and DOS position. Thank you Cousin John, you set the example
that others should follow, and are very close to being nominated for the
Camp Pine Tree Branch Award depending on whether the Camp Director gets
a room with a bed or has to sleep in his Jeep.

I would like to ask Cousin John to assume one other position. That
would be the person incharge of Special Operations Bureau (SOB) as
defined in the Camp Marianne Manual at Chapter 6. Please say yes.
Thanks John and you can add those initials after your name as well as
the others.

Cousin Mary Beth has also taken the bull by the horns and will have
the Kitchen Staff up and running to feed the troops. I am sure she will
make a strong effort to "kick it up another notch" before she presents
the first meal at Camp Marianne. She to will be nominated for the Camp
Pine Tree Branch Award. Let's here it for Cousin Mary and her fine
staff.

We still have plenty of positions open. Please refer to previously
published e-mail messages. Cousin Carol, how about volunteering to be
Camp Nurse? (since you are the only one who has any medical training).
Cousin Helen, will you Chair the Committee to oversee the physical
fitness morning exercise program? That's right, we need someone to be
Camp Physical Director (CPD) to guide us and instruct us for early
morning PT.

One last message in this message with more to follow. In the event
I am not available to answer a question you may have, please contact
Cousin Tom, my Assistant Camp Director (ACD). Cousin Tom will have
the answer or he will refer you to the person that should have the
answer or refer you to the Camp Manual (CM) that you can purchase from
the DOF..

to accept the responsibilities of fireside story teller (FSST). As you have
seen in previous communications that my communicating abilities are
outstanding. Being from New York, I should be able to communicate with

copy of the local codes, Camp Marianne Transportation Regulations(CMTR).
All campers are advised to obtain a copy for thier personal review to avoid
any transportaion problems to any local events and avoid any subsiquent
violations, fines or grounding for periods up to 48 hrs. Please send a

As the DOF, I will handle all monetary issues, Banking, Investment and
Retirement. To open your account, please send a check finj the amount of
$1000.00 payable to the Camp Marianne Dept of Finance to the following

Thank you little sister for those wonderful comments..... But I should
mention that the condition ( orange color ) is only temporary. Once you
start eating and drinking these 'rabbit' foods, there is no limits to
what you can accomplish. I have participated twice now in the 'running
of the rabbits' in the South of Ohio. I hope to introduce such an event
in Colorado but I'm not sure at this point what it would entail. ( are
there rabbits in Denver? ) I will check with the camp director for more
details.

Dear Camp Director -

I have been on the computer tonight looking at all of the outdoor
opportunities that there will be at Winter Park, CO., at the lodge. In
reading all of the material, I have seen that they have very strict
regulations when it comes to activities in and around the wilderness. They
say we should be very careful that we apply for and receive the proper
paperwork and liscensing for each and every outdoor activity. For instance
to go on a river raft you must first apply for and purchase a "river rafting
liscense". To horseback ride on trails we must apply for and purchase a
"horseback riding on trails in Winter Park liscense".

We need a leader here Gary. You do work at a law firm that is why we would
all benefit if you would assume the position of "ACME Head Of Liscensing
Engineer", referred to herein after as (AHOLE). You would need to check in
with the with the DOF and purchase your permit to issue various liscenses by
sending him $75.00 in the form of a chasiers check. This will make us
comfortable that we all have the appropriate paperwork for all of our outdoor
activities.

So this is a suggestion to all other campers, before attempting to go off on
any outdoor excursions you must first check-in with the AHOLE.

And for all of you water enthusiasts, if you are floating in the river and
feel something brush against your leg - it is propbably just the TURD making
it safe for all of us.

Dear Cousins,

I know you are all concerned with my safety and welfare, and you have
every right to be. What worries me is that we have 6 months to go, and
Gary is already out of control.

He told me if I do everything he says, I have a good chance of winning
the Camp Pine Tree Branch Award. You wouldn't believe the things he
wants me to do. We also have to play a game he developed called "Camp
Director". I can't begin to tell you what that's about. Just to give
you an example, picture Gary with just a whistle around his neck. See
what I have to go through. He also asked to be addressed as Camp
Director.

He spends an abnormal amount of time on the computer. When I walk by,
he is either chuckling to himself or laughing out loud. He just says he
is addressing all the issues involving Camp Marianne. "It's my duty and
obligation as Camp Director" he repeats over and over.

I NEED HELP HERE!!!!!

Brother-In-Law Dave,

I also remember Cousin Gary using is break-in abilities (learned from the KC
Police Dept, with my credit card)to open the locked doors to the laundry
room and removing all the towels to dry up all the water spilled from the
"slashed" trash cans. (I don't remember who slashed the trash cans.....Gary)

I also remember him ready to pull out his gun to shoot his car when a
strange sound came from the muffler of his car. (Brother-In-Law, I wouldn't
know who placed that device in the muffler....would you?)

What are we all going to be in for? Winter Park, CO will never be the same.

Cousin Cindy,

You have our utmost understanding and sympathy. I think all of us have
seen Cousin Gary at one time or another acting, well ... strangely. I
remember when we were at Camp QuadCity and Gary proceeded to fill a
bathtub full of water for no apparent reason and try to pull poor Cous
Tom in with him. After an hour of wrestling moves of which I think the
ancient Greeks and Romans would have been impressed, they ended in a
draw with Gary hugging the throne and Tom holding on to both door knobs
or something like that. Not a pretty picture.... I don't even want to
think about the volley ball games with the mattresses, wet carpets and
buckets of water. I do hope Cousin Gary will be a little tamer this time
around as he has a pretty hefty responsibility as Camp Director

Cindy, let us know what we can do to help. The computer thing is not
bad. This could keep him busy for hours. I might suggest buying him some
computer games that can be played interactively on the internet.

We will continue to think of ideas to help you out.

To all cousins and fellow campers,

I must come forward again at this time with more concerns that us cousins in
Michigan have for Camp Marianne and all who will attend.

1. Will Gary really be up to Camp Director after his release from the Mental
Research Center? I was concerned that he may be to old for this position and
I think we all could see he was getting out of control and drunk with power.
Now Cindy has come forward and confirmed all this. Cindy please be strong,
no award is worth your dignity of being forced into playing camp games your
not comfortable with.

Cindy had asked to please pacify Gary with the position. Perhaps we could
give him a position more in his element such as maintenace. Gary could be
responsible for the things he truly enjoys dusting, vacuming, straightening
shoes and magazines, toliet cleaning etc.. Instead of a whistle we could
give him a nice apron. If he chose to wear only the apron as he does his
whistle at least it would cover things that I'm sure the rest of us campers
may not want to see.

Have you all noticed all memos seem to mention Gary and various concerns
about him.

I do understand your problem Cindy. Dave also is getting a little carried
away with his position of Camp Juicer. He walks around chanting "must get
the carrots". He says he wants to be called the Juice Master. He follows me
around saying "let me show you this carrot". Weirdest looking carrot I have
ever seen though.

We also have a issue of Dave not being able to get wholesale bulk tolet
paper. So Kansas we will be looking to you for bringing multiple corn cobs.

I also beleive I seen something about a casino not far away. So Rosemary I
was thinking you might be interested in being the camp shuttle driver to the
casino.

So many positions, so many issues, so many rules, so many fees. Is anyone
else feeling the anxiety?

Great News !

I have learned that there is a dog track nearby that is really great.
However, their rabbit is not functioning very well.

Well, I have managed to get 29 free tickets to the track for all of us
cousins in exchange for Dave substituting for the rabbit in the dog races.
This was a fine !!

I apologize for such a late and tardy camp message response. I know
everyone is waiting to hear from me. However, with Christmas
approaching, I will not be able to present a complete message of any
value or substances worth reading at this time. I will therefore
curtail any further messages until next year. However, after the first
of the year things will be moving very fast. There will be a lot of
work. There will be schedules to address, procedural items to be
written that are not discussed in the Camp Manual, social concerns
dealing with society functioning under extreme living conditions,
meeting with management groups, meetings with peons, and so forth. Any
way you can only speculate the amount of work that must be planned to
make your vacation trip a pleasant and memorial event. We must all step
forward and give 100% of our valuable time to make this all work. After
all, it should be everyone's personal goal to strive for the Camp Pine
Tree Branch Award.

Yes, I have confirmed the date, June 20 thru 27th.

My food and drink needs to be lite salt, sugar free, decaf, fat free, low
calorie, high protein, low carb, low cholestorel, high fiber, served warm,
not hot, or cool, not cold. Cooked meat needs to be medium, not rare or well
done, cut into bite sized pieces. Veggies either raw or cooked, preferably
steamed or baked, cream or cheese sauces served on the side. No gravies.
Sugar substitute preferably Sweet and Low, not Equal. Beverages may be
alcoholic. Preferably Scotch, Chevis Regal in particular.

Breakfast may be served to me in bed, however, I will expect lunch and dinner
served in the dinning room. I prefer the meals served on China with sterling
silver flatware, polished, not tarnished. Water may be served in goblets
with two standard sized ice cubes. Prefer bottled water, clear, not tainted.
Two servers will be acceptable, one for food, other for beverage.

Napkins need not be linen, large, soft paper napkins will be acceptable.
Table cloths should be linen, clean, not stained.

Dave, I am really looking forward to the dog races. I am glad you are
training. You will only need rabbit ears and a tail. The dogs will be
chasing your backside.

To All Camp Attendees:

I hope everyone had a Happy New Year. Welcome to 2003. We
appear to be on schedule and are starting to get well organized. We
have many volunteers who have stepped forward in that regard. I thank
all of you who have made that step. For example, the D.O.P.E. (Cousin
Michelle) has a great idea in making a film at Camp Marianne. Perhaps
one of you will appear on "TV's Funnies Videos" as an "out take" of
course. It would be nice if we had a story line for the film, say a
remake of "Ernest Goes to Camp", but who could we get to play Ernest?
Or how about "Doctor Lector Goes to Camp"! (Please, no takeoff of MTV's
"Jackass" ). Anyway, you get the idea, start thinking of a story line
and submit your screenplays to the D.O.P.E. for consideration. Of
course, the video movie we make at Camp Marianne will be made available
to attendees for a small charge, to be determined by the D.O.F. after a
final accounting for the production is complete. Hopefully we can
produce this film for under 5 million bucks.

We have one other important concern to deal with. We will be
in the forest and there is always a threat of fire and other dangers
around the camp fire. We therefore must develop a team to respond to
such perils. We need volunteers. We need a group to assist Cousin Tony
(who has firefighting experience) in that effort. We need a team above
reproach. We need YOU to join the Fire Alert Rescue Team. I hate to
use so many acronyms, but please submit your application to join
F.A.R.T. directly to the Team Leader, Cousin Tony (who pursuant to the
organization chart, will report to the Camp Director, GAS). T-shirts
and helmets maybe purchased through the D.O.F.

Speaking of uniforms, a Camp Marianne Bulletin Board will be made
available in the Camp Marianne Headquarters' Control Tower for posting
of the "Uniform of the Day" as well as other important information
regarding scheduling,event planning, daily food menu, organizational
chart depicting who is in charge of what and where, and so forth. So if
you are challenged as to what is going on and where it is happening at
Camp Marianne, you can check the C.B.B. at the C.M.H.C.T. Please
refer to the Camp Marianne Floor Plan (C.M.F.P.) for directions to the
C.M.H.C.T. which will be posted on the C.M.B.B.

There are several things that I want to share with you.

First, this is my first message in a number of weeks. I know you all
have been looking forward to hearing from me. I have been very busy
with many camp task to make your stay at Camp Marianne a very pleasant
experience. After all, this will be our first annual reunion, with many
more planned in the future. That takes me back to my first task, where
are we going next year? I therefore went in search for a site for
2004. That brought me to Florida for a week in the sun, slow walks on
the warm sandy beaches, etc. (I brought Cousin Cindy for the etc. part)
looking at several sites, all very expensive. (Speaking of expenses, I
will be sending all of my air travel, lodging, food, ground travel,
miscellaneous, etc. receipts to the D.O.F. for prompt reimbursement).
A full written report of my trip will be available from the D.O.F., and
yes a price for the report will be charged to cover my trip. If anyone
has a suggest for next year, please contact me.

Second, Cousin Timothy has contacted me and wanted me to announce that
those who drive to Camp Marianne, please keep a close lookout for road
kill along the way. Cousin Tim said he has some good pizza recipes for
unidentified animal body parts. Please remove imbedded road material
and store all road kill in your cooler. Cousin Tim wants some
volunteers to help clean not only his live kills, but those who are
delivered to him already dead. (We need to cut down on the food expense
at camp since I went a little over on my trip to Florida).

Third, our website is on line. Yes, you can go to www.campmarianne.org
for current information. We want to thank Cousin Dave for his creation
and construction of the website. I am glad he has more skills than
squeezing juice from carrots. If you have any information, whether
important or not so important or of no value to at all, please contact
Cousin Dave, our Web Master Guy, for insertions of things. Things will
be posted as reported, using censorship guidelines as defined in the
Camp Marianne Camp Manual 2003. We also need to create other job duties
for Cousin Ashley, Cousin Jessica, Cousin Jennifer (a/k/a: Cousin Jenny,
pronounced like Forest Gump would say), Cousin Kevin, Cousin Angela, and
future want-to-be Cousins, Andy and Kris. I may have left out some
Cousins and if so I apologize (please refer to Cousin Marianne's message
on those who have not yet been given a title). If you have not yet been
appointed to a position of authority or don't have some letters behind
your name, please submit your camp skills resume and photo to the Web
Master Guy (WMG). Please check the webpage and if you are not listed,
we will find you and designate a title and job for you.

Fourth, during our recent camp meeting held in Detroit, Cousin Adam
volunteered to be in charge of Camp Bon Fires and other things
associated with burning and fire. Cousin Amy wants to be in charge of
activities (Camp Activity Director). She will introduce us to games she
has learned at college, like "Whipping cream and M&Ms thrown on your
body"; "Quarters"; and something about water sports, the Camp Director
standing in a circle with a paper plate to defend himself from water
soaked sponges being thrown at him! Cousin Bryan and Cousin Jonathon
will jointly be in charge and Team Leaders for the Paint Ball War Games.
So bring your favorite PB gun and lots of ammo. Minutes of the meeting
were prepared by Cousin Rachel who interpreted what I said during the
meeting. Anyone who has a favorite video that has a camp theme they
want to bring to camp, please provide Cousin Dave, WMG, the title name
of the video. He will post them on the website. Following the
meeting, a group photo was taken and may appear on the web page if
anyone can figure out how to transfer the photo from the digital camera
to the computer.

Hello, Everyone!

I have been taking a break but have enjoyed many nights chuckling at your various correspondence.
I would like to take this opportunity to tell you all that I seriously take upon my title as camp gambling advisor. In such capacity, I have done some homework tonight and would like to share.
Guess what?? There are two gambling towns close enough. Central city is 42 miles away and has 5 or so casinos, BUT Blackhawk is 48 miles away and hosts 20 casinos!!! Sounds like a whole lot of fun to me.
I will explore this further and keep you posted.

Tom and I are not sure if we can attend. He did accept a new job offer. He will be working in the Detroit area and will not have to travel. He starts his new job on February 24th. I guest after a few weeks, he may know if he can take off work for a vacation in June. I think our odds of attending are about 50/50 right now. Will keep you posted when I know more.

Cousin Dave,

I recently came across your website & am very interested in your facilities. I discussed it with my little family & we are all very excited to get specifics on your camp. My family includes my husband & I & our 11 children. Their ages are 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, & 34. As you can tell we would need a variety of activities because of the range of their ages. George Jr., the 34 year old, is mentally challenged but is not a problem as long as we keep him constantly entertained. Also is the area dangerous as I would very much like to bring my mother with us but she has a tendency to wander off so I would not want to be near any cliffs of waterfalls. If it is dangerous, I definitely would bring my mother-in-law. Do you permit pets as we have 3 dogs & 4 cats & would rather not have to board them since they get very lonesome when we are all gone. They very seldom have accidents in the house anymore & we would be sure to clean up after them.

Please send us a list of your rates & a copy of your literature on your accommodations ASAP as we will need to get someone to pick up our checks the first of the month to put the money in our bank. We would like to request the months of July & August & possibly even June if we can afford it.

We will anxiously be awaiting your response.

First of all let me congratulate you and your husband on such a heroic
venture to bear and raise 11 children not to mention your oldest is 34
and your youngest only 1. With the exception of George Jr. they were
all born on odd years without skipping a beat... Very impressive
indeed.

We would be very interested in your patronage to Camp Marianne but
unfortunately, the facility is very expensive to non-family members. We
also do not allow pets nor can we guarantee the safety of your mother
or other family members. In fact, we always seem to lose a member or
two on each outing. Obviously, we still have some kinks to work out so
I would strongly recommend Disney World or Universal Studios where they
can properly attend to such a wonderful family as yours.

We do appreciate your inquiry but must decline your request at this
time. If you are related to Cousin Marianne in some form or manner we
can make arrangements through our CD,AHOLE to send you the proper
documents to be filled out in triplicate. If not, please accept my
sincere gratitude for your admiration of our wonderful website and have
