CAMP AWARDS NIGHT!!!
There will be a number
of awards to be presented on Camp Award’s Night. This
will be an event you will not want to miss. You
will want to bring your camera to treasure
these memories. You will want
to wear appropriate clothing [see C.M.M. Rev. 2003, Section J (h) for suggested and
recommended dress code]. You will want to
appear as if you are interested. You will
want to appear happy and excited for
those who WIN. You will want to be prepared for an acceptance’s speech if you
are lucky enough to WIN. (Note: There
is a 2 minutes limit for acceptance’s speech). Now for the moment you have been
waiting for, the AWARDS:
1. The Camp Marianne Pine Tree Branch Award: This is the GRAND AWARD. The most prestigious award to be presented. It will be the last award presented. It will be the award everyone wants. It will be awarded to the camper who demonstrates
the ability to: take orders from the C.D;
reads the Camp Bulletin Board;
dresses according to the dress code; appears cheerful to the C.D.; listens to the C.D.;
does not argue with the C.D.; laughs at C.D.’s jokes; appears to understand what the
C.D. says; maintains a positive attitude; maintains a clean living environment; and makes
the C.D. feel important, wanted and loved. This award will be judged and presented by the Camp Director based on any one or all of the above criteria. So the person who makes the C.D. happy will WIN.
2. The Camp Marianne Broken Pine Tree Branch and Toilet Paper Award: This is the opposite of the GRAND AWARD. Need
I say anything further? However,
for those who just don’t get it, lets say for example, the beautiful and charming
Reservation Clerk would happen to assign the C.D. an air mattress and pup tent (and I know
she won't), that person would probably be
given the most hideous and shameful award to be presented during Award’s night. Hopefully, no one will receive this award and it
will be saved until next year.
3. The Camp Marianne Pine Tree Bark Award: This award will be given to the person who whines
the most. Open nominations will be accepted. Please use the form provided in the Camp Headquarter’s office. Being a baby or a jerk will place you high on the
list. Failure to participate in group
activities is another way to win this award. So
if you see another camp attendee acting in this manner, point to that person and announce
real load “ _(Name)______ is
going to win the Camp
Marianne
Pine Tree Bark Award.”
4. The Camp Marianne Mountain Rock Award : This
award will be presented to the person who is the most agreeable, nicest, charming, and
wonderful person at camp. Selection will be made by the Awards Committee. (Cousin Julie will be an example that everyone
should try to mirror).
5. The Camp Marianne Tom-Tom Award: This
award is for talent, the attendee who offers a camp song to be sung by all camp attendees. However, the song will be presented unaccompanied
before a selection of three panel members and if selected, may further advance to
participate in The America Idol Contest. Please
enter your application to be a judge to the Camp Hostess.
6. The Camp Marianne Camp Fire Frying Pan Award : This award will be for the attendee who cooks the most in preparation of food to be served to camp members. Judging will be on presentation, taste, substance,
smell, color, and must look like and feel like food. Health benefits are not a factor in this award
and “Juicing” is not consideration for this award).
7. The Camp Marianne “Blank” Award : This
award will be given a “name” during judging. It will take place around the camp fire on
Wednesday evening. For those of you who have
seen the movie “Blazing Saddles” there is a scene similar to this event. Preparations to enter into this award will depend
on diet intake. Suggestions for the
contestant to achieve the loudest, longest, most unusual sound, and smelliest may want to eat a lot of beans or other high fiber
food items. Girls are welcome to participate. Seating arrangements around the camp fire will be
assigned by GAS, the CD. Judging will be by
majority vote. Please plan to attend.
8. The Camp Marianne Camp Whistle Award : This is a nice
award. (This is the “feel good fuzzy
award”). It will be given out by the Camp Hostess, Cousin
Marianne. She will provide rules for
obtaining this award during the week long stay. To
be a contestant for this award, please visit with the Camp Hostess.
